Year 6A and 6B students participated in a gymkana last Tuesday, as part of our project 'TREES around our school'. They used a tablet to look for information on the QR codes of some trees and answered questiones about them. They also did a final test to complete the gymkana. It has been an interesting experience.
What a wonderful time we spent working on the Project ‘Trees around our school’. We have done many different activities and we have prepared a presentation to perform to students from secondary school. We want to thank you teachers and students from IES Fleming for attending our presentation Take a look at the video below .
Hello! My name is Conor and I am
your new teaching assistant for this year. I am 20 years old and I am from
Ireland but I live in England with my parents and my older sister. I am in
Oviedo because I am studying at the University until June.
Living in Spain is very different to living in
England. People eat very late here. In England I normally have my dinner at 6
in the evening but people from Oviedo eat at 9. It is different but I love
Spain and I really like this city.
I love to travel. Last week I went
to Madrid. It was my first visit to the capital and I thought it was beautiful!
This week I am going to Valencia with some friends and I am really excited. I
love food and everyone tells me the paella in Valencia is the best! In England we
do not eat paella so I am very excited to try it.
I play a lot of sport and I listen
to music everyday. My favourite sport is rugby but I also play football with my
friends. I support Chelsea, who do you support? My favourite music group is The
Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I have seen them at concerts 3 times. I think they are
amazing!
That is enough about me. This year I
am here to help you to improve your English.
Year 5 Students are working hard on their dramatising readings about the story 'Sid the Seed'. They will perform the story to their classmates from Baudilio Arce as part of our project 'Trees around our school'.
Students from year 5A and 5B have visited San Francisco Park in Oviedo. They observed the trees and took some notes to prepare their presentations. It has been a great experience for everybody.
What a wonderful experience we had last Friday during the meeting of the '1st Education Innovation Fair' in Gijón. Many schools worked very hard on their projects and presented them to the rest of schools. We also presented our project called 'Trees around our school'.
We spent some time preparing our stand and had interesting meetings with teachers and students from other schools around Asturias. We shared ideas, activities, projects, feelings..... It has been great and we are very proud of our school Baudilio Arce.
Have a look at this presentation that includes some photos and videos. Enjoy it!!!
The Education Regional Administration has published the pedagogical projects selected for PALE (Foreign Languages Learning Projects), including our project 'Trees around our school', which is awarded a financial aid of 2000 €.

Hello! I am
Miriam and I am studying a Master Degree in Bilingual Education in the Oviedo’s
University.
I love
kids. I expend a really great time with them. They are amazing, funny, creative
and innocent. For that, every time that I am with them I reaffirm my idea that
teaching fits perfectly to me.
I really
hope to enjoy a great time with you in the school.
My name is Alberto, I'm 23 and I'm in my last year of teacher
training practices. Even though I am from Ponferrada, my family has some
ties in eastern Asturias, and I've been living in Oviedo for a pretty
long time.
I really love languages,
and this is the reason why I decided to become an English teacher. I
decided to apply for Baudilio Arce because I have received very good
opinions about the school and its English program.
I think that's all from me, I'm sure I will have a wonderful stay here and learn a lot.
