New eTwinning project: 'Endangered animals around the world'

 

  • Our new eTwinning project has been approved. This is a short description .




‘ENDANGERED ANIMALS AROUND THE WORD’

Ø Short description

This project aims to deepen students’ knowledge about some species of animals that are in extreme danger of extinction, their characteristics, habitat, and their survival strategies. Throughout the project students will look for information on the selected animals. They will learn about them and prepare interesting presentations to share with their eTwinning partners. They will post their presentations on the blog and will connect via videoconferencing to share information and experiences. Finally, they will make some art projects and a final exhibition.

Ø  Aims   

  •  To look for information on endangered animals around the world.   
  •  To describe animal characteristics and their habitats.
  •  To investigate what causes animals to become endangered and how people can help       them to avoid their extinction.
  • To react to environmental problems
  •  To use ICT resources to gather information, prepare and share presentations, communicate with students from other countries, etc.
  • To acquire an improved ability to use computers (writing a post, creating a collaborative wall Padlet, communicating during videoconferences and other communication tools (e.g. interactive board);
  •  To improve the ICT and Art skills and the communicative skills in English
  • To improve the ability to work in group.
  • To show the results of our project to the whole community.

Ø  Work process

Each school will be responsible for organizing the activities and preparing the materials of the project that will be divided into next parts:

 

FEBRUARY- MARCH 2022

 

1. First contact between partner schools.

·         Introduce yourself (Teachers and students Padlet)

·         eTwinning corners

·         Videoconferencing

2. Project Padlet and blog

3..Gathering information about endangered animals around the world.

 

 

 

APRIL 2022

4. Students will prepare a PPT or video and will post it on the Padlet and blog of the project.

5. Videoconferences between schools

 

 

MAY  2022

 

6. Students’ presentations about endangered animals.

7.Make some banners and art projects about   endangered animals and display them.

Ø  Expected results

This project is a good opportunity for our students to improve their English, to share new experiences, to know more about endangered animals.... They will learn about other countries and cultures as well. The project will provide all pupils from the participating schools with enhanced educational opportunities. All children and staff will be able to communicate with each other and share educational and cultural experiences. They will learn about and value both their own culture and that of the European partners. The staff and pupils will also develop their information and communication technology skills through this project. Email and Padlet will be used throughout the project by all partners and presentations will be created using ICT. Students will improve their artistic skills and competences by making art projects about endangered animals around the world. The partners are already working as a cohesive group.
