 On Wednesday 23rd April, we celebrated WORLD BOOK DAY at school with the play:

ALICE IN WONDERLAND, by Lewis Carroll.

In years  2 and 3, students made fantastic posters about natural products for making healthy cosmetics. Well done, everybody! Take a look at the video below!

PANCAKE DAY

 HELLO EVERYBODY! 

To celebrate a cultural festivity in the UK, we celebrated Pancake Day at 6th Grade today, Monday 24th February (because this year falls on Tuesday 4th March, but it is a bank holiday). 

We divided the groups in 4 teams and children had to turn over the pancake and pass the frying pan to their classmate as fast as possible.

It was delicious and fun! 

Thanks to all of you and your families for your cooperation and thanks Carmen, our teacher trainee for your great help throughout your time at our school.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE: 11th February

On Tuesday 11th February, we celebrated the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE.

IN 6th grade, we organised a session with RUNNING DICTATIONS about BIOGRAPHIES of important women in science, compiled by Carmen, our teacher trainee.

It was fun and very motivating to inspire our generation of students to pursue their dreams.

STEAM PROJECT: PEOPLE WHO CHANGED THE WORLD

 In 6th grade, we are doing a STEAM PROJECT called DESPERTANDO VOCACIONES, where we are investigating the BIOGRAPHIES of important people who changed the world. 

Each day, the MINI-TEACHER has to present the biography of a person whose life changed the world.

They can also write about somebody from their families.

PEACE DAY, 30th January: the story of MALALA

 Hello everybody!

We celebrated PEACE DAY (30th January) in the English class in 6th grade with the story of MALALA.

She was born in Pakistan in 1997 and she was only 11 years old when she started writing articles to defend girls' right for education.

She was shot in her head by a Taliban gunman when she was going to school, because Talibans did not want girls to go to school. She survived because she was taken to hospital in he UK, where she had a lot of surgeries in her head, and doctors put a cochlear impant and a titanium plate on her skull to cover the hole of the bullet. Just imagine!!

She won the Nobel Peace Prize for defending women's rights for education and equality.

Thanks for your great example to change the world, MALALA!
